Check out part 2 of 4 of Adventures In Aquascaping in the June issue of Tropical Fish Hobbyist.
Available now online, and in stores in the first week of May.
I’m building a 45 gallon paludarium to house a gang of Geosesarma Crabs. This month, I’ll be discussing how to build a plastic base for a removable insert, and getting all the plumbing in place, to be ready to start hardscaping with cork.

I enjoyed the first two installments and have just finished reading the 3rd. Can you give a symatic diagram of the plumbing? I am planning a redo of a planted 75 gal I’ve had going for 3 years now. I used flag stone and granite on the back wall of the tank to give me a more natural look than just a blank wall or cheezzie background seen
thanks much looking forward to the 4th installment

The plumbing is really pretty simple.
There is a single intake like most typical solutions. The intake has an reducing elbow at the bottom to allow for a sponge to be inserted as a prefilter.
The return is one line from the filter, split to 3 return lines, each with a valve inline to adjust flow rates. One return line returns at the water’s edge, the other two are used to push water through the drip lines.
