The original 20 gallon cork tank

Back in March 2009, I started up a 20 gallon tank with a stepped cork background, to see how cork stood the test of time. It’s had a few small hickups along the way, but for the most part is a really nice tank that is pretty easy to maintain. I documented the tank over Aquariacentral.com where it also won Tank of the Month after it had been running for around 9 months.

I still keep this tank today. It’s home to a Red Flame Gourami, a school of Norman’s Lampeyes, a handful of Endlers and CPD’s, a small SAE and a Bamboo Shrimp. I like to let the tank get completely overgrown with plants choking the surface, this is when I really enjoy the behaviors of the fish the most.
